Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
1. Introduction
At Triple Sparks, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Christian dating platform and related services.
By using our Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use our Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
We collect information you voluntarily provide when creating an account and using our Service:
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, and password
- Profile Information: Photos, bio, religious denomination, church name, faith level, marital status, family plans, education, career, and lifestyle preferences
- Communication Data: Messages exchanged with other users, counselling session notes, and feedback
- Payment Information: Billing address and payment method details (processed securely through our payment providers)
- Survey Responses: Information provided in questionnaires about your values, preferences, and compatibility criteria
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use our Service, we automatically collect certain information:
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, and browser type
- Usage Data: Screens viewed, features used, and app open and close events
- Log Data: IP address, access times, crash reports, and system activity
2.3 Location
We want to be precise about this, because it is often misunderstood.
The Triple Sparks mobile app does not read your device’s GPS location. It never asks for location access and never records where your phone is. The location shown on your profile is the town or city you type in and choose during onboarding. We convert that text into approximate coordinates so we can show a map thumbnail and estimate distance to other members.
Our app does include a mapping library that technically declares location permissions to the Android operating system. We do not use them, and no location prompt is ever shown to you.
Separately, our servers can infer an approximate country or city from your IP address, as any web service can.
2.4 Information from Third Parties
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider. We do not receive your password or your contacts.
3. Automated Screening of Photos and Text
Keeping a dating service safe requires checking what gets uploaded. We want you to know exactly how that works, because it involves your photos being processed by an automated system.
3.1 Photo screening
Every image you upload — profile photos, community post images, and images sent in chat — is sent to Amazon Rekognition, an automated image analysis service operated by Amazon Web Services, before it becomes visible to anyone. It performs two checks:
- Content moderation: flags nudity and sexual content, violence, hate symbols, drugs, and similar material. Images that are flagged are rejected and never published.
- Face detection on profile photos: confirms that a human face is present, so that profiles show a real person.
This is face detection, not facial recognition. The system answers only “is there a face in this image?”. It does not identify you, does not match your face against any other photo or database, and does not create or store a faceprint or any other biometric template. No face data is retained after the check completes.
Images flagged as potential child sexual abuse material are rejected and handled under our legal reporting obligations.
3.2 Text screening
Community posts and comments pass through an automated profanity and abuse filter before publication.
3.3 Human review
When you report a member, a post, or a comment, our moderation team reviews the report and the reported content. Reviewers can see the reported material and the accounts involved. Reports are not shared with the person you reported, and they are not told who reported them.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- Provide and Improve Services: To operate, maintain, and enhance our platform and features
- Matchmaking: To suggest potential matches based on your profile, preferences, and compatibility
- Communication: To send service-related notifications, updates, and promotional messages (with your consent)
- Safety and Security: To screen uploads, review reports, and detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Customer Support: To respond to your inquiries and provide assistance
- Analytics: To understand how users interact with our Service and improve user experience
- Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes
- Counselling Services: To facilitate premarital counselling sessions and track relationship progress
We do not use your personal information for advertising, and we do not use advertising identifiers.
5. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
5.1 With Other Users
Your profile information (excluding your email and phone number) is visible to other users. Messages you send are shared with the recipients.
5.2 With Service Providers
We use the following third-party providers to run the Service. Each receives only the data it needs for its stated purpose, and none of them is permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
- Amazon Web Services (United States, Ireland) — hosting, file storage for your photos and media, content delivery, and the automated photo screening described in Section 3
- Sentry (United States) — crash and error reporting. Receives your account ID and email address so we can trace a crash back to a support request, plus device, app version, and technical error details
- PostHog (United States) — product analytics. Where enabled, receives your account ID and email address, the screens you visit, and app open and close events. It does not receive your messages, your photos, or your profile answers. Session recording is disabled
- Mapbox (United States) — renders the map thumbnail on profiles
- Photon, operated by Komoot (Germany) — converts the town or city name you type during onboarding into approximate coordinates. It receives the text you type and your IP address, not your identity
- Resend (United States) — delivers transactional email such as sign-in codes and notifications. Receives your email address and the message content
- Google and Apple — only if you choose to sign in with them
- Paystack (Nigeria, Ghana) — processes payments where paid features are offered. Receives billing details directly; we do not store full card numbers
5.3 For Legal Reasons
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property, or that of our users or others.
5.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
- Secure authentication mechanisms including two-factor authentication options
- Regular security assessments and vulnerability testing
- Access controls limiting employee access to personal data
- Monitoring systems to detect and respond to security incidents
While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active. When an account ends, these periods apply:
- You delete your account: your account, profile, photos, messages, matches, and community content are erased immediately. There is no grace period and the deletion cannot be reversed.
- We remove your account for a policy breach: it is deactivated first and permanently erased after 30 days, so that an appeal is still possible during that window.
- Security audit records: retained for 365 days, then purged automatically. These note that an event such as a sign-in or an account deletion happened, with an internal numeric ID. They contain no name, email, photo, or message content.
- Moderation records relating to safety actions taken against an account: retained for as long as needed to stop a removed member simply signing up again.
- Financial and tax records: retained for the period required by Ghanaian law.
Encrypted backups are rotated on a rolling schedule, so deleted data may persist in a backup for a short period before being overwritten. It is never restored into the live service.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
- Deletion: Delete your account and personal data
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format
- Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time
- Withdraw Consent: Withdraw previously given consent for data processing
You can delete your account yourself at any time in the app, under Profile → Edit → Delete account. If you cannot access the app, our account deletion page explains how to request deletion by email and sets out exactly what is erased and what we are required to keep.
To exercise any other right, contact us at privacy@tripplesparks.com. We respond within 30 days.
9. Cookies, Analytics, and Tracking
9.1 On our website
We use cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential Cookies: Required for the Service to function properly
- Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how users interact with our Service
- Preference Cookies: Remember your settings and preferences
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect functionality.
9.2 In the mobile app
Mobile apps do not use cookies. Instead the app includes two software development kits that send data to the providers named in Section 5.2: Sentry for crash reporting and PostHog for product analytics. Between them they record crashes, the screens you visit, app open and close events, and your account ID and email address.
We do not use advertising identifiers (the Android Advertising ID or Apple’s IDFA), we do not run advertising or attribution SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
10. Children's Privacy
Triple Sparks is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. You must enter your date of birth when you create a profile, and we reject any registration below 18. Because age underpins both matching and this restriction, your date of birth cannot be changed after onboarding.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete the account and its data promptly. If you believe a member is under 18, please report the profile in the app using the Someone under 18 reason, or email safety@tripplesparks.com.
11. International Data Transfers
Triple Sparks operates from Ghana, but several of the providers listed in Section 5.2 are based in the United States and the European Union. Using the Service therefore involves transferring your information outside Ghana, including your email address, your photos, and your usage data.
These countries may have different data protection laws. Where we transfer your information, we rely on contractual safeguards with each provider that require them to protect it to the standard described in this policy.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
